24 hours a day, 365 days a year
We provide a wide range of veterinary medical and surgical care, including comprehensive routine preventative healthcare tailored to the needs of your pets. Services include health checks, new animal checks, vaccination, parasite control, routine surgical and medical consultations, pet passports, monitoring of long term health issues, palliative care and euthanasia
We have a dedicated sterile operating theatre and our nurses and vets are trained and continually updating their knowledge in anaesthesia and surgery from routine neutering through to the more complex procedures. The practice is well-equipped but in the event that your pet requires treatment which requires further specialist equipment or expertise, we will arrange a referral to a local centre with which we have an ongoing and mutually beneficial relationship.
Stray animals are often brought in to us and a microchip is invaluable in reuniting pets with their owners. We recommend microchipping for all dogs and cats - for cats, it is safer than wearing a collar and it will be compulsory by law for dogs to have a microchip by April 2016
For some pets and their owners, a visit to the surgery is extremely difficult or distressing. We are very happy to come to your house to examine your pet but would like you to know that we cannot carry all the possible equipment or drugs needed for every case and for that reason most routine appointments and emergency treatments are better performed at the surgery.
We understand that you may wish to have your pet put to sleep at home and we will always do our best to accommodate such requests, to allow your pets last moments to be in a comfortable and familiar environment. Please contact the surgery to discuss this in advance, in order that we may be able to arrive at a time convenient to you.
Pet passports, rabies vaccinations and export certification are all available
Our vets are trained official veterinary surgeons, can provide all the advice and services you require to export your animals
Pet Healthcare Plans
Our practice provides healthcare plans , not only to keep your pets in top health but also your purses too, by spreading the cost of routine healthcare throughout the year at a discounted rate. As members of the scheme we also give you a 10% discount on all of our services for your pet should the need arise. Payments are taken by direct debit monthly and this spreads the cost of vaccination, worming and flea control over twelve months. Nail clips, microchips and two health checks a year are included in the scheme. Please contact us for further details
Our well-equipped in-house laboratory allows us to carry out many procedures, including routine blood tests, urine analysis, skin scrapes and miscroscopy, blood films and cytology. Aside from these, we work with external laboratories who can provide any other tests we may require - samples are collected by an overnight courier service, allowing a rapid turn-around and the earliest possible diagnosis.
We also have our own digital Xray and ultrasound facilities, as well as ECG, blood pressure monitoring and pulse oximetry
Our experienced veterinary nurses run daily clinics along side the veterinary surgeon clinics. They offer a wide range of services, including 2nd vaccination, health checks, weight clinics, diabetic checks, monthly development checks, routine parasite control, post-operative checks, dressing changes, nail clipping and anal-gland expression
Deciding to put an animal to sleep is always difficult and distressing. We aim to offer appointments for euthanasia at a quite time that is convenient to you, providing a gentle and unhurried service. We are always sensivitive to the upset associated with losing a beloved pet and will assit you on any way we can - for example, you may wish us to carry out euthanasia at home, to avoid the stress of travelling for your pet. We can also offer routine or individual cremation if required
