Professional Veterinary Care with a Personal Touch
We are a friendly independent small animal veterinary practice located in Tiverton, offering the highest standard of professional veterinary care whilst maintaining a personal approach tailored to the individual needs of our patients and clients.

COVID-19 Information
Park Hill Veterinary Clinic is open for routine and emergency care, but we are currently operating under adapted protocols to ensure the safety of our staff and clients. Please note our new opening times – Monday-Friday 8.30am-6pm, Saturday 8.30am -5.30pm.
Please do not attend if you are self-isolating, have covid-19 symptoms or have tested positive.
To make an appointment or in an emergency please call the surgery on 01884 255336. For repeat prescriptions and general enquiries please contact us by email
parkhillveterinaryclinic@outlook.com
When attending the surgery with your animal we ask that you limit attendees to one per pet where possible. Face coverings are optional, but please sanitise your hands while in the surgery. Time in the consulting room is limited to 15 minutes and any further discussion will take place in the waiting area or car park.
If your animal has several or complex issues it can be helpful to write down the key points you would like addressed. If there are further questions arising after the appointment you are also welcome to contact us by phone or email for further clarification.
Emergency care is available as normal 24 hours a day by calling 01884 255336.
Please bear with us during this difficult time – Covid-safe practices inevitably mean that appointments take longer, and we understand that it is frustrating to have to wait outside, but for the safety of all and to allow us to continue to offer as full a service as possible we believe it is the best way to work.
ABOUT US
What we do

Preventative care
We offer a wide range of preventative healthcare, which can be obtained on a "pay-as-you-go" basis or via our cost-effective Pet Health Plan which provides the necessary care for a simple monthly payment. We strongly recommend regular healthchecks and vaccination where applicable, and treatment for internal and external parasites. We are mindful of the environmental impact of a number of these treatments, and therefore recommend that we discuss your pet's health, lifestyle, and risk factors before settling on an appropriate regime
Dent
Dental Care
Dental disease can have serious consequences for other body systems, including the heart, liver and kidneys. We undertake routine scaling and polishing and extractions if required under general anaesthetic, and our nurses can provide you with advice for
ongoing home dental care.
Dietary advice
We stock and recommend Hill's pet foods, both for routine life-stage feeding, and for conditions where a prescription diet is appropriate. We are able to offer specific advice regarding which diet, how much to feed and costings, and our nurses run regular clinics to assist with specific needs such as weight loss, kidney disease and diabetes.
Routine vaccinations
Vaccinations will protect your pet from a number of illnesses and are authorised for regular administration from a young age to ensure a long and healthy life. We believe, however that all medications should be given based on a risk-benefit assessment - Make an appointment with a vet to discuss your pet's individual needs.
Consultations
We take pride in offering comprehensive and compassionate health care . Some of our vets work part-time and consult on a rota basis so please let us know if you would like to see anyone in particular and we will do our best to accommodate you.
All consultations are by appointment, except of course when you have an emergency. Please ring our friendly reception team to arrange a convenient time.
A medical consultation is a chance to address your questions or concerns about your pet. No question is too small or too silly, and we are always happy to explain things - we strive to help you understand your pet's health conditions and make informed decisions.
Our consultations with a vet are scheduled for 15 minutes to allow a thorough examination and comprehensive discussion.
Surgery
Park Hill is equipped to perform all routine surgical procedures on site, and we frequently accommodate orthopaedic surgeons who come into the practice to perform more advanced procedures on our behalf. Our large purpose-built theatre is used for all our routine "clean" surgical procedures such as neutering , lump removals, exploratory laparotomy and wound reconstruction to minimise the risk of infection from wounds related to our 'dirty' procedures such as dental procedure, attending abscesses etc
Our large prep area is where animals are anaesthetised and prepared for operations in theatre. Blood samples and minor procedures are also carried out here.
There will always be a dedicated nurse and veterinary surgeon to look after your pet whilst under anaesthesia and they are monitored on a regular basis during recovery to make sure they are coming round well.
We are also fully equipped to undertake Keyhole (Laparoscopic) Surgery
Hospitalisation
The practice is equipped with a separate cattery and dog kennels for inpatients. The kennels contain large kennels for dogs over 10kgs, small kennels for smaller patients and 'walk in' kennel options for extra large/giant breeds.
The cattery contains accommodation specially designed for cats where they can hide and have their privacy whilst recovering.
There are separate recovery kennels for patients that require constant monitoring post-operatively.
There is also a separate Isolation ward for animals which may have a potentially infectious disease and need to be kept separate from the other inpatients.
We do not have staff on site all night, but all inpatients are checked by a vet between 9.30-11pm, with further checks as required throughout the night. For critical patients requiring more intensive supervision, 24 hour nursing is available at St Boniface vets in Crediton
Visits
Home visits for euthanasia may be available by call the surgery, as we understand for many pets and their owners it is preferable to go through this process at home. As far as possible we will accommodate requests for visits, but will generally require at least a day's notice. For all other conditions and procedures we advise that the animal attends the surgery, as we are very limited in the services we can offer off-site.
If we cannot undertake a euthanasia for you, or you would like a more bespoke service, we do work alongside "Paws in Peace", a local home euthanasia service

Park Hill Veterinary Clinic opened in April 2014, with the sole aim of providing first class care for its patients. Our practice offers a caring, family feel to ensure that you and your pet receive a personal service.
Our diagnostic equipment includes digital X-ray, in house laboratory, ultrasound scanner, laparoscopy, and a full range of up to date anaesthetic medicines, machines and monitors
Our qualified nurses are available for consultations including weight clinics, health checks, diabetic clinics, nutrition, wound management, dental clinics and many more.
We are available for consultations on an appointment basis from 8:30am – 6pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am – 5.30pm on Saturday. Outside of these hours care remains available 24/7 for genuine emergencies by calling the usual number 01884 255336. On most occasions, if an animal needs to be seen, it will see one of our own vets at the Park Hill surgery. We do however collaborate with St Boniface Vets in Crediton and on occasion you may need to travel there for emergency treatment. https://stbonifacevets.co.uk/
In 2020, we were awarded RCVS Accredited Status (General practice - small animal) at our new premises in Harris Court - We are extremely proud of this achievement.
